This brick veneer involves the following brick bonds and coursing. Stretcher bond, Flemish bond with recessed headers, Herringbone, Dog toothed brick course recessed, Soldier course, Brick Slips. There were also four full height brick columns separating the different brick areas. The clock face is formed using two different bricks and cut to brick slips then adhered to the brick veneer underneath.
A busy brick veneer with some great detailing. If you're going to Matakana drop into the shop for a look, the workmanship is impressive.
Well done to Wade and the crew for producing this years best project!

Aesop - Ponsonby
CF King Contracting Ltd were receivers of the Gold Award for their submission of the AESOP project in Ponsonby, Auckland.
This block veneer is a very unique project not often seen in the construction industry. The blockwork comprises three different block sizes combining to give the same finished look for all the honed walls, bench tops and shelves. A combination of pre-honed blocks and in-situ honed blocks were used across the project. Keeping a consistent look when installing the many different block types to achieve the high level finish was a huge challenge. This is a true work of art and the tradesmanship second to none.
